This Program contributes to reducing the housing deficit by providing a dignified and secure roof to vulnerable families who lack the resources to build homes on their own.
In the Dominican Republic, the housing deficit is estimated at approximately one million homes.
This program offers different modalities, tailored to the specific needs of applicants.
Our goal is to provide a dignified and secure roof for poor families who cannot afford to build homes on their own, thereby contributing to the solution of the housing problem in the Archdiocese of Santiago.
Our Actions
- Construction of complete homes: For families in extreme vulnerability who own the land for construction.
- Donation of construction materials: Some families have part of the resources and labor secured. At Cáritas, we donate part of the required materials.
- Resource management: Our institution coordinates with other organizations and compassionate individuals, both nationally and internationally, to secure resources for housing construction.
